Access and security
How does the separate PIN for a link work?
SMS to a named recipient requires a PIN. You can enable it for email or in-person delivery. The PIN is not included in the notification, QR or printed link.
For the sender
Check PIN protection in the access section. Save the displayed PIN securely and give it only to the selected recipient separately from the link. Do not put it in the recipient message or a support request.
For the recipient
Open the latest link and enter the sender’s PIN when requested. A PIN checks access to this handover; it does not extend expiry. If missing or lost, ask the sender for new protected access.
Difference from a Patient Key
A named-recipient link and a Patient Key are different mechanisms. The key uses its own public code and PIN, has an access count and separate reissue, printing and SMS rules. Follow the instructions for the access type you received.
