Sending medical files

Choose the files, recipient and expiry.

The clinic shares specific files through a protected link. Recipients open what is permitted without a new account, while the sender follows access history.

Clinic sending uses a paid plan. Eligible organizations can activate a trial after review and explicit confirmation. Personal doctor receiving is free.

In everyday practice

Send an examination to an external specialist with a permitted response.
Ask a patient or partner to upload a missing document.
Give a patient access to a specific package using a code and PIN.

How it works

  1. Prepare the handover

Choose the available files, recipient and expiry. Check view, download and response permissions before sending.

  2. Provide access

Send the protected link. A named-recipient SMS requires a PIN shared separately. A Patient Key SMS can contain both the code and PIN.

  3. Follow the actual status

An accepted SMS is not a delivered SMS, and a delivered link is not a file open. Check the exchange status and history.

A PRACTICAL GUIDE

Prepare the files and follow the real state of the exchange.

Why use a protected link instead of an attachment

An attachment stays in the recipient’s mailbox. In MediSend, the clinic sets which files can be opened and until when. That exchange’s history stays alongside permitted responses, rather than being scattered across separate emails.

Access can be revoked to prevent future opening. This does not erase copies already downloaded: the recipient remains responsible for storing and using them.

Sending and requesting files are different tasks

When you already have the examination, create a handover and add the recipient. When a previous image, referral or report is missing, send an upload request. The patient or partner uploads through the supplied link without a new account.

Received files arrive in the clinic’s inbox. The team can see what is new and assign the next action to a colleague.

Delivery, opening and responding

A sent email or accepted SMS does not establish that the recipient opened the examination. Check delivery status and access history separately. When a response is permitted, the recipient can return a message or files within the same exchange.

Verifying a doctor’s professional details does not grant access to all of a patient’s examinations. The directory requires separate consent; permission for files always applies to the specific exchange.
